2004 EDITION

Ancona, Italy, July 6-11 2004.

The 2004 EDITION is completely addressed into the idea of Art as experience. Our goal is to create a spectacular Art show through the use of new technologies and over the Internet to entertain and recreate the audience. Curators and Artists from all over the world will show artworks and performances to introduce the audience to today’s, tomorrow and after tomorrow world creative directions through the use of the newest tools.

The criteria we have in the choice of our curators and artists is based on their creative approach not only to Art but mostly to their own lives as they are special creative human beings who fully engage themselves in developing art projects for a better living. The unique chance that BananaRAM offers to its audience is of seeing special artworks affected of intense living substance. BananaRAM offers to its audience the chance of enjoying the works of these special individuals who made of creativity the meaning of their own existence and generously share their vision with us.

Major European and American Universities scholars have been invited as well as Industry executives to attend the Festival, meet the artists and to hold workshops on experiments about Art , Entertainment and the Internet.
Due to the size of the event this year, we recommend to send your proposals and ask for an invitation well in advance.

THEMES

The 2004 premise is exploring Mind Control and the need of sublimating the anxiety of the viewer through art. Reality in the visual world of today can be melt with images on screens and in our vision, art is the only way for the viewer to achieve self determination. Artists create beauty and irony for freedom’ sake in order to conceive a more joyful world.

We are against any form of dictatorship operated by media or by the viewer, we are not for utopia, we stand the viewer' self determination.

Our aim is also to solve digital loneliness and bore, as our belief is that evil in the world is caused by an emptiness in real entertainment. As in Dr. Strangelove world war is caused by a lack of ice creams, we believe today’s major conflicts are due because an absence of real fun, that brings to our main premise: Lack of entertainment creates monsters.
